Geert Kollau approaches painting with modern techniques. Many layers of photographic material are fused together using computer techniques to form a new image.

Kollau plays with symbols and techniques from ancient painting and their meaning. With a mix of images from the past, present and future, Geert Kollau wants to make people aware of the boxes in which they live. He challenges people to see their own scene, their own created frames. After all, judgment always happens looking back, reflective from our current limitations and intentions.

Geert Kollau gives his work a social charge from personal free emotion. This Dutch mixed-media artist depicts the sometimes absurd reality of the human brain. This results in an adventurous style, in which other details emerge non-stop and the atmosphere can be changeable. Space is played in the broadest sense of the word. The innovative way in which he visually tells a story makes his work unique and has earned him worldwide recognition.
